Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) is also known as Indian basil or holy basil. In Ayurveda, it is also called "The Incomparable", "Nature's Mother Medicine" and "The Queen of Herbs" due to its numerous supportive properties.
Tulsi is also known to balance kapha and vata dosha. Daily consumption of Tulsi herb is said to promote general well-being, support longevity and help with stress management, among other things.
According to Ayurveda, tulsi has a high sattva content and increases ojas and prana, two life forces in the body. Ojas promotes joy, vitality and a healthy immune system, while prana, described as the vital life force of the body, supports intelligence, communication and perception.
